Mud. And Stella. And mud. And teeth.

We went to a new dog park this weekend, as we got a notification that the Great Dane Meet-Up was going to be at a park in Georgetown. That’s just a 10 minute drive down the highway for us, so we decided to go check it out.   This was the biggest dog park I’ve ever seen.  It was full of the gigantic, old trees for the dogs to play under, tons of things for them to climb on and under, and was the first place that was so big, that she could actually get her run up to full speed. It generally takes her a bit to get going.

Anyway, at some point during our time there, Stella found a mud puddle.

Mud.

And a dirt pile…

Dirt.

And some mud…

A snow white great dane. And Stella. And mud.

And then she found a snow white great dane…and showed HER some mud, too…

Snow white dane’s owner is frantically clapping to get her out of the mud. She’s deaf and so can’t hear– but the clapping makes some sort of something that she can ‘feel’ I guess. She turned at the last minute– but as you can see, Stella is gunnin’ for her.

And again with the mud:

Mud and Stella

And then may have crashed into her a few times, just to make her dirty. Her owner groaned. A lot… On another note– the reason that Stella gets picked on at the dog park all the time is because this is how she greets other dogs. She will run up to them as fast as she can, come to a screaming halt, and then stand

THISFRIGGINCLOSE to their faces

HI! I’M STELLA

I’m Stella!!

HI! I’M STELLA

I’m Stella!!

HI! I’M STELLA

I’m Stella!!

HI! I’M STELLA

I’m Stella!!

HI! I’M STELLA

I’m Stella!!

All the excitement and ‘in their face’ introductions means one thing. Stella is normally greeted like so:

OHHH CRAP!

I’m Stella!!

OHHH CRAP!

I’m Stella!!

OHHH CRAP!

Anyway, it was a fantastic weekend and Stella received not one, but TWO baths. I think it was probably a small price to pay for the fun she had!

I am on DOL, and was amazed at how big Stella has gotten!! So I came to get an update on her and read this story. My mom lives in Georgetown and I’m excited to read that there is a great dog park there!! I definitely need to take Disco there! When we go, he just kind of hangs around the house with us, never even crossed my mind to look for a dog park there. I love reading your stories….very entertaining, lol!

You should let me know when you’ll be in Georgetown, we’d love to meet up with you. After attending a ton of Great Dane Meet-Ups, we realized that almost always, the grown up danes tend to stand by their humans. Stella and just a COUPLE of other danes are the only exceptions I’ve seen.

Feel free to take down my cell number, and just text me if you’re in town. (I probs wouldn’t answer a call from a number I don’t know) Just remind me who you are and where you’re from.

Trust me, though– if any dog can get another dog to come out of their shell, it’s Stella the Pest.
